Given, From 7:00 AM to 11:00 AM it rained 2.25 inches
here,
11AM - 5PM = 6 hrs
rainfall increased 1.25 every 2 hrs
so,rainfall increased 6/2 = 3 times
rainfall from 11am - 5pm = 3*1.25 = 3.75 inches
total rain = 2.25 + 3.75 = 6 inches (ans)
